The 2007 biennial meeting and reunion was held in San Antonio and was a real success.

There were 164 registered for the meeting and 23 more for the banquet on Sunday evening.

The Don Wagner Golf Tournament was held the morning of October 11, and that evening there was an "ice breaker" at the Enchanted Springs Ranch in Boerne, TX.

The first general meeting and elections of new officers was held on Friday followed by a short presentation by the Chief of the Medical Service Corps, Brigadier General Pat Lewis. She was followed by an MSC who recently returned from a deployment in Iraq. Friday evening there was a Mexican Buffet with Mariachi’s playing during the cocktail hour.

Saturday morning started off with an excellent Continental Breakfast and then additional briefings on the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program, a TRICARE Update, information on the History Project, and a final presentation by a representative from MOAA. There were four separate tours set up for attendees during their stay and all were provided with souvenirs and information about the many sights available in San Antonio.

A moving Memorial Service was held Sunday afternoon, with bagpipes, the reading of name of MSCs who had died since the last meeting, and a final playing of taps. The banquet "happy hour" began at 1700 followed by spectacular entertainment by members of the Army Medical Command Band. Colors were posted by four members of the Randolph AFB Honor Guard, and a magnificent dinner was served. This was followed by dancing and music provided by a wonderful band. Many attendees then sauntered up to the Hospitality Suite for a nightcap and final goodbyes to friends of many years.

If you missed it – shame on you. Try and attend the one in 2009. Details will be available in the association Newsletter.
